A little something...
...that demanded to be written last night while watching ROTK. Not sure whether it came out perfectly as I wanted it or no, but here 'tis. A Sam vignette.

I'm not hungry. Leastways not for lembas bread.
And I'm telling the truth. I'm not.
Oh, I won't say my gut don't growl something awful now and again, but the thought of lembas - well, begging pardon, but it's a proper supper I miss, or a breakfast. It's bacon and eggs I think of, with toast cut in thick slices of crusty bread with butter spread over them. . .or fish-in-a-blanket, fish all wrapped in streaky bacon, cooked up nice and tender and moist. . .or fish with gooseberry sauce the way Mam made it, the way she taught me.
No, Mr. Frodo. Somehow I'm not hungry at all.
