I'm not hungry. Leastways not for lembas bread.

And I'm telling the truth. I'm not.

Oh, I won't say my gut don't growl something awful now and again, but the thought of lembas - well, begging pardon, but it's a proper supper I miss, or a breakfast. It's bacon and eggs I think of, with toast cut in thick slices of crusty bread with butter spread over them. . .or fish-in-a-blanket, fish all wrapped in streaky bacon, cooked up nice and tender and moist. . .or fish with gooseberry sauce the way Mam made it, the way she taught me.

No, Mr. Frodo. Somehow I'm not hungry at all.

Oops, sorry, Febobe. Sometimes that was what came to mind when I read that part about Sam.

This is so touching. I can well imagine Sam not feeling hungry now. Our dear hobbits love their food but the anguish these two are going through is enough to curb even a hobbit's appetite. And for Sam to watch his master deteriorating all the time . . .
