I agree that the ultra-stern slash warning is really not necessary---you've been writing Frodo h/c for years now without such strong warning, and everyone knows you don't write slash. And we know a story isn't slash unless it has a pairing listed.
I also think that most of us who DO enjoy slash don't wear "slash goggles" just looking for it---at least, I know that us interspecies gals don't.
