OK, a question.

Does anyone know, in the book or the movie, what time of year Huck Finn takes place? I'm assuming spring or fall, prolly spring, given that there are references to him playing hooky from school and I assume they didn't go to school in the summer either. . .and it sure as heck doesn't look like winter. . .but I want to know some clearer idea.

Anyone?

Thanks,
Febobe :)

I am fairly sure it was spring, but I can't swear to it.

In chapter VI, about Pap and leaving the widow's house:

"So he watched out for me one day in the spring, and catched me, and took me up the river about three miles in a skiff..."

I believe it was summer. Other seasons are not good enough to live runaway life.
