Well, I've posted a plea for activity-inducing ideas over on FrodoHealers. :/ I just hate to see us this inactive, and I'm realizing that if I as founder/owner/mod don't do something about it, who the heck will? So I'm going to try and keep updates on my h/c fic publications posted over there, and I would like to encourage all of YOU on my flist to post about any Frodo h/c you may write. Y'all know the FrodoHealers guidelines by now; I don't need to review them here, but needless to say I am feeling a bit depressed about the lack of activity and will consider darn near anything to prod us back into life.

Ideas are welcomed here, too, if you'd prefer that over e-mail or group posting. I realize the movies gave us a real activity spurt at a level we're not likely to see again, but I do cherish the hope that maybe we could someday have a post or two each week...I dare not dream of a post or two most days, but it glimmers in the back of my mind like the horizon going into the West. Maybe someday?

Anyhow, I'm sorry to be so darned spammy today. Hopefully we can get out and go to group at church tonight, and maybe I can get away from fretting about FrodoHealers just for a little while....

Thanks for listening,
Febobe :(

For my part, I'm not likely to return to any yahoo lists. :( I don't even know if I remember my login for the lists! I think a lot of people have moved away from yahoo lists to LJ or Dreamwidth or even beyond to places like tumblr (eep, that scares me since I haven't a clue about tumblr!).

Have you considered creating an LJ community for Frodohealers so that people can participate, kind of like we have for [livejournal.com profile] fffc with challenges every so often? You're right in that not as many people are in posting mode as of late. I do see some awesome hurt/comfort stuff being posted, like [livejournal.com profile] lovethosehobbit's h/c (very old school) and yours and some things at [livejournal.com profile] fffc, etc.

I hope this is a little helpful! *hugs*

I have a FH LJ community that I created a long time ago, but we never had much interest in it then...think I should try to find my login and revive it?

This is a little helpful, thanks. I always appreciate input. :)

And I don't have the first CLUE about tumblr either. ;)

Thanks,
Febobe :)

From what I hear in SPN circles, tumblr's far more useful for art--there's not a simple system for commenting, so with "reblogs" and whatnot, it's easy to lose control over a fic. But that's just through-the-grapevine rumblings; I've never tried it out.

If you do dust off the LJ comm, something that's very popular on the SPN h/c comms I'm on are comment-fic memes. There's one going at [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time if you'd care to get ideas, and another at [livejournal.com profile] ohsam that seems to have just about run its course. :) FWIW, I've taken to calling hoodie_time folks DeanHealers!
And I agree about Yahoo lists kind of falling by the wayside; the one I was on for Monkees stuff has been pretty well defunct for several years, especially since the few active members have finally drifted over to Facebook. I think I'm the only one of that group who's still active on LJ, even.

I've dusted it off and posted a prompt, courtesy fb252 (below), for our first attempt at a comment-fic. :) Also, I've posted it to the list for general play and provided my own sample to try and get us rolling. :)

Thanks for the input...I guess I'm just nostalgic for the "good ol' days," which in some ways were awful and in some were absolutely wonderful.

Hugs,
Febobe :)

How about a prompt to start a story...one of any length?

Frodo sighed and stared out the window. He'd always loved the first snowfall in the Shire, but now, it meant...

Thanks - posted to the comm for commentfic and to the group for play, and I've kicked the ball off rolling! :) With proper credit to you at both locations, of course! :)

Much appreciated,
Febobe :)
