Thanks to SurgicalSteel (and kind offers of assistance from others), I now have a Dreamwidth account!) Thank you! *hugs*

I'm using this as a test post; mostly I plan to use this (the Dreamwidth) journal for posting fic so I can keep my LJ personal. This way I won't have to worry about the whole friending thing; I can just keep the Dreamwidth account wide open.

For those of you who may come to this later for my fic, welcome. . .hope you'll make yourself at home along with everyone else. :) The more, the merrier!

I don't know how soon I'll have anything up, but I *am* working on stuff at present. Look for *something* to go up here by the end of the month, if not sooner. I'll probably try to post the Frodo/Eowyn 20_rings set here, and everything from fanfiction.net, eventually, so those who are willing to revisit oldies may enjoy that. If not, please just be patient with me and skip over those entries; I'm trying to create a consistent archive of my work, and I am deeply behind on the febobefics LJ, so I'm thinking of starting fresh over here. . .not abandoning febobefics, just. . .putting ALL my fics here, bit by bit. Making it THE place to find my work. Hopefully it'll all work out.

Anyway, glad to be here. :) Thanks to all who helped me get here!

LJ Sec will let you bulk copy posts from one journal to another - let me know if you're interested and/or would like help?

LJ-Sec can be downloaded from here:

So the first thing is: download it and install it.

Then open LJ-Sec - it'll ask you to log in. Do that with the login information of the account you want to back up (I'm guessing your fic journal).

On the menu bar, go to 'journal' and then to 'repost selected items to another journal.' Fill in the name and password for the journal you're copying to (your Dreamwidth account).

Under 'server URL,' type in 'www.dreamwidth.org/interface/flat' then tick off all the little ticky boxes and click 'begin reposting.' You can use this to back up to InsaneJournal, too, if you want - you'd just use your info for that account instead of the Dreamwidth account.

If you run into problems, there's an LJ comm specially devoted to LJ-Sec - but I've nerver actually had a problem with LJ-Sec or LJ Archive (which lets you back everything up including comments to your computer).
