Well, since it's the anniversary of Weathertop, it's also the anniversary of Frodo's anniversary reactions, and since Weathertop itself wasn't particularly inspiring me, that's what I ran with. . . . PG for dark themes. As usual, no sex, slash, or profanity included.
I would consider this movieverse rather than bookverse, as (a) the timeline operates a little differently, and (b) in the book, JRRT never goes quite this far. ;) Well, we all know my opinion there by now, don't we, ladies? ;)
Enjoy.

Cold. So cold.
His shoulder ached, and his side, and he could not get warm, though there were blankets and quilts aplenty.
"Hush now, Mr. Frodo. Just you try and drink a sup or two."
Sam. Frodo opened his eyes, blinking through the mist that never seemed to leave his vision on these days. Sam was there, albeit behind a thin veil of fog, but there nonetheless.
Dear Sam. Frodo allowed his friend to lift him on one arm and tilt a cupful of hot broth - Rosie's best chicken broth, made with good herbs and stock and simmered long - to his dry lips.
"Don't you worry, Mr. Frodo. Your Sam's here."
